Introduction - India is our motherland. Many great men were sacrificed for their motherland. Mahatma Gandhi is one of them. He is known as ‘The father of Nation’. We generally call him Bapu. He was a great freedom fighter also.
Where was he born - he was born on October 2,1869 at Porbander in Gujrat .his father’s name was Karam Chand Gandhi. He was the Diwan of Rajkot State. His mother’s name was Putlibai. She was a very religious lady.
His early life and education – At the age of seven, he was sent to school .he was always regular and punctual in his class. He passed his matriculation examination. Then he was sent to England to study law from England he returned as a Barrister .he went to South Africa to fight the case. There he saw the bad condition of Indians. He started satyagraha movement to improve the condition of Indian
His Political career – Gandhiji returned to India. he joined the congress and become its leader. he started Non-Violence and non- cooperation movement in 1920. He went to prison several times at last India become free on August 15th,1947.
Conclusion – Gandhiji was shot dead on January 30th,1948 by Nathu Ram Godse. Gandhiji was a great thinker, Preacher, Leader, and soldier. His name will ever be remembered with great respect.
